An enquiry is not a booking.

Sending a form or discussing a route does not commit you to a transport charge. A movement is arranged only after we confirm the booking in writing.

1. About SwiftLink Cargo & website use

SwiftLink Cargo (“we”, “us” or “the Carrier”) is a commercial road freight operation based in Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12, United Kingdom, serving Berkshire and the Thames Valley, including the M4 and M3 corridors. Contact us at contact@swiftlinkcargo.co.uk or 07809 129901.

Our services are for business customers. We do not contract with private consumers. This website provides service information, indicative capacity information and a way to make enquiries. Operator compliance documents, applicable goods-in-transit and public-liability insurance details, and formal invoicing information are provided during customer onboarding before transport begins.

Use this website lawfully and do not misuse the enquiry form or interfere with its security. Site copy, photographs and 3D visuals explain the service; vehicle illustrations are not engineering drawings or approved loading plans. Dimensions are approximate. We may update the website, and the written booking confirmation takes precedence for the agreed movement. Changes to website terms do not retrospectively change an existing booking.

2. Quotations & confirmed bookings

Quotations are normally valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. An indicative quotation is not a confirmed booking. We confirm availability, suitability, price and the applicable terms in writing before a movement is agreed.

Quotes rely on the information you supply, including cargo dimensions, pallet count, total gross cargo weight, route, timing and site access. A material difference may require a revised price or arrangement. Any variation to these terms must be agreed in writing.

3. Vehicle specification & load limits

Our company-described Euro 6 curtainsider and trailer combination has a 7.0-tonne gross train weight. Approximate planning dimensions are a 4.2 m vehicle deck plus a 6.2 m trailer deck, 2.50 m internal height and 2.45–2.48 m internal width. Combined volume is approximately 64.5 m³. Gross train weight is not payload.

  • Towing vehicle: up to 900 kg payload and up to 10 Euro pallets or 8 UK Standard pallets.
  • Trailer: up to 2,200 kg payload and up to 15 Euro pallets or 12 UK Standard pallets.
  • Combination: up to 3,100 kg payload and up to 25 Euro pallets or 20 UK Standard pallets. Pallet formats are alternative configurations, not additive capacities.

Declared cargo weight must include pallets, packaging and stillages. Actual vehicle weight, equipment, axle limits, load distribution and usable clearances can reduce capacity. You must provide accurate cargo information; space remaining in one unit does not allow the other unit’s weight limit to be exceeded.

The company-stated internal bridge rating is 2,000 kg for equipment, load and any operator combined, subject to suitable point loads and operating conditions. It is not an additional cargo allowance. Unit payload limits still apply. The bridge is only for suitable hand or pedestrian pallet-truck transfers, never forklift access.

We may refuse, stop, offload or part-load a consignment where its declared or actual weight, distribution or condition would make carriage unsafe or unlawful. Where undeclared overweight cargo causes an aborted collection or wasted journey, the agreed transport charge remains payable, subject to applicable law.

Read the vehicle and loading specification.

4. Cancellation of confirmed bookings

Unless the written booking confirmation specifies different arrangements, the following charges apply to confirmed bookings:

More than 24 hours before collection
No cancellation charge
12–24 hours before collection
50% of the agreed rate
Less than 12 hours before collection
100% of the agreed rate
Wasted journey at the collection point
100% of the agreed rate

Tell us about changes as soon as possible by email or telephone. These charges do not apply to an unconfirmed website enquiry.

5. Loading, unloading & waiting time

Unless agreed otherwise in writing, you must arrange safe, lawful access and suitable loading and unloading equipment at both sites. Tell us about restricted yards, loading bays, access windows and handling requirements before booking.

Both units permit side-curtain forklift loading from the yard. Rear loading may use forklift tail-feeding or a compatible low-level platform or scissor lift. The trailer deck is approximately 63–78 cm high and the vehicle deck 82–95 cm; the differing floor heights, bridge slope, equipment capacity and clearances must be assessed. There is no rear tail lift, and standard fixed 120–130 cm HGV-only docks are not directly compatible.

Our driver may assist with positioning and securing the load as agreed. You are responsible for loading or unloading carried out by your personnel and equipment, to the extent the loss is attributable to those operations. This does not exclude any liability that we cannot lawfully exclude or our responsibility for our own negligence where applicable.

Unless agreed otherwise, the quote includes 60 minutes of loading time at collection and 60 minutes of unloading time at delivery. Additional waiting is charged at £45 per hour, in 30-minute increments. Any applicable VAT treatment and agreed additional charges will be set out in the quotation.

6. Dangerous & excluded goods

We do not accept the following without express written agreement before booking and confirmation of any required authorisations, equipment and insurance:

  • Dangerous goods regulated under ADR.
  • Livestock or other living organisms.
  • Temperature-controlled or perishable foodstuffs.
  • Bullion, cash, precious metals, high-value jewellery, or excise goods not cleared from bond.
  • Loose bulk aggregates or regulated waste.

A website enquiry or a description of our services does not confirm that we can carry these goods.

7. Liability, insurance & claims

The applicable insurance arrangements and any declared-value requirements must be confirmed before carriage. A contractual liability limit is not a promise that the full value of your goods is insured.

Unless a higher declared value and corresponding cover are expressly agreed in writing before transit, liability for physical loss, misdelivery or damage to goods is limited to the lowest of: the actual cost value of the affected goods; £1,300 per metric tonne of the gross weight of the lost or damaged part; and £100,000 per incident or combination load. A higher-value arrangement may carry an additional charge.

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit, production interruption, loss of contract and third-party penalties. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. All exclusions and limits are subject to applicable legal requirements, including reasonableness where required.

Note visible damage or shortage on the proof of delivery and notify us in writing within 3 working days. Notify complete non-delivery in writing within 14 days of dispatch. Provide the booking details and available supporting evidence promptly. These notification requirements do not override rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be restricted.

8. Payment & lien

The quotation will specify whether an ad-hoc booking is payable in advance or within 7 days of delivery. Approved business account invoices are payable within 14 days of the invoice date unless a different period is agreed in writing.

For qualifying overdue commercial debts, we may charge statutory interest and recovery compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, including interest at 8 percentage points above the Bank of England base rate where applicable.

Subject to applicable law, we may retain goods in our lawful possession as security for sums due from the customer under a general and particular lien. This clause does not create an unrestricted right to sell or dispose of goods.

9. Carbon comparisons & route information

Our website’s carbon comparison is illustrative. It uses assumed fuel rates and UK Government 2026 conversion factors over a stated distance and number of journeys. It is not measured fleet performance, a guaranteed reduction, a full life-cycle assessment or verified ISO 14083 reporting.

Actual fuel use and emissions depend on the vehicle, load, route, weather, traffic, empty running and allocation method. The comparison does not establish that each example vehicle can carry the same goods in one trip, or that a customer meets SECR, PPN 006 or Scope 3 reporting requirements. Any route-specific data provision or reporting support must be separately agreed; the customer remains responsible for the suitability of its disclosures.

View the assumptions and calculation. Personal information is handled as explained in our privacy notice.

10. Governing law & jurisdiction

These terms and disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory legal requirement.
